How to stay motivated

Have you ever started something with great enthusiasm only for it to wane after a short time?

If you answered yes to the above, then you are not alone. I have worked with many clients that have developed a habit of starting things with great gusto and excitement only to see their ideas not come to fruition.

Here are some ways to stay motivated

I use these tips and techniques to help my personal growth clients stay focused and motivated:

Set time aside

You will have more chance of success if you block time out in your diary to focus on your goal.

Remember why you are doing it

It is far easier to achieve your end goal when you know why you are doing it, whether it is learning something new or improving your health. I encourage my clients to use visualisation and affirmations to embed this deeper into their minds and hearts.

Reward yourself

Be kind to yourself! When you have reached a milestone on your desired goal reward yourself. A piece of jewellery, new clothes or shoes or maybe a new bicycle are just some of the rewards my clients have given themselves.

Use motivational quotes

Motivational quotes are a great resource when you are looking to stay focused and motivated. Here are four of my favourites:

  1. “If it does not challenge you, it doesn’t change you. If it does not challenge you, it will not change you” – Fred DeVito
  2. “Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone” – Pablo Picasso
  3. “Do not let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning” – Robert Kiyosaki
  4. “People often say that motivation does not last. Well, neither does bathing, that is why we recommend it daily” – Zig Ziglar

When my clients apply the points above, they stay focused and motivated. If you follow their example, then you too will be able to stay focused and motivated whatever your goal may be.
